What Large Order Notifications Do
Large orders often need extra preparation time so that nothing is missed. By default, every order, regardless of size, is sent to the store based on the store's wait time settings, which may not allow enough time to prepare orders above a certain size.
Large Order Notifications address this by alerting the POS when a customer places an order above a set dollar threshold. The threshold is configured for each location. The alert can be timed in one of two ways:
- Send on day of order: The POS is notified at a designated time on the day the order needs to be fulfilled.
- Send when order is submitted: The POS is notified as soon as the customer places the large order, no matter how many days in advance it is placed.
This makes it possible to delay the notification until it is actionable for the kitchen, rather than sending it days before the order is due.
Turning On Large Order Notifications for a Location
Large Order Notifications are enabled for each location individually. The walkthrough below covers the steps in the Direct Ordering Admin Panel.
Setting the Large Order Send Time
When Send on day of order is selected, the notification is sent at a single time that applies across the entire brand. To set that time:
- Log in to the Direct Ordering Admin Panel.
- Go to Settings.
- Under Miscellaneous, select General Settings.
- Scroll to Large Order Send Time and enter a time in HH:MM AM/PM format, such as 7:00 AM.
- Click Submit to save.
