If a customer is unable to place an order themselves, due to login issues, time constraints, or other reasons, an order can be placed on their behalf from the Direct Ordering Admin Panel using any payment method stored in the customer's online profile.
Placing a New Order on Behalf of a Customer
Follow the steps below to place a new order on behalf of a customer.
Note:
- Orders placed through + New Order follow all existing brand, location, and revenue center settings.
- If the brand uses approval workflows, such as for catering orders, the same rules apply.
- Online orders configured to auto-close and send to the POS behave the same way here.
- Future-dated orders remain open until the designated processing time. They can be edited until they are closed, at which point the payment is processed and the order is sent to the POS.
Reordering a Past Order on Behalf of a Customer
To repeat an order that has already been closed and sent to the POS, reorder it on the customer's behalf with a new payment. Follow the steps below.
