To adjust the tip on an order that has not been closed yet, use the Edit button. The Edit button appears in several places across the Direct Ordering Admin Panel, most notably on the order itself.
When the Tip Can Be Adjusted
A tip can be adjusted while an order still meets both of the following conditions:
- Status is PENDING or OPEN.
- Payment is AUTHORIZED.
Once an order's Status is CLOSED or its Payment is PAID, the order has already been sent to the POS and the tip can no longer be adjusted.

Adjusting the Tip on a Closed Order
If an order has already been closed and the tip still needs to change, the only option is to fully refund the order, reorder on the customer's behalf, and add the updated tip before closing the new order. For the reordering steps, see Placing an Order on Behalf of a Customer.
