Explanation of Feature
If a customer places a large order, your employees often need extra time to prepare it to ensure nothing is missed. However, by default, all orders (regardless of size) are sent to the store based on the store's wait time settings, which may not be adequate time to prepare orders over a certain size.
If this is a concern for your restaurant, you can use our Large Order Notification settings to be notified "immediately" when a customer places an order above a certain dollar threshold. "Immediately" offers 2 setting options in your Direct Ordering Admin Panel:
Send on day of order - This option notifies your POS, at a time that you designate, of any large order that needs to be fulfilled that day
orSend when order is submitted - This option notifies your POS as soon as a large order is placed by your customer, regardless of the number of days in advance.
This gives you the option of delaying the notification until it's actionable by your employees vs. sending it to them days in advance of the order so they can prepare as needed.
How to turn on Large Order Notifications for a single restaurant location:
How to designate the time you'd like to be notified on your POS
If you've selected "Send on day of order," follow these instructions to specify when your POS should receive the notification:
Click on Settings
In the Miscellaneous section, click General Settings
Scroll down to Large Order Send Time and add a time in the HH:MM AM/PM format (such as "7:00 AM")
Click Submit to save your changes.
NOTE: This feature pertains only to future (non-ASAP) orders and needs to be turned on for each location individually. Additionally, this setting is a universal setting for the entire Brand and cannot be customized per Store location.
