If a customer would like to adjust the tip on an order that hasn't been closed yet, you can use the Edit button found in various places across your Direct Ordering Admin Panel, most notably on the order itself:
On which types of orders can I adjust the tip?
Status: PENDING or OPEN
Payment: AUTHORIZED
If an order Status is CLOSED and/or a Payment is PAID, it has already been sent to your POS, and you cannot adjust the tip.
How to adjust the tip on an order
In your 1st Party Ordering Platform
Find the order you'd like to adjust by going to Orders > and either the Orders Review & Search, Order Management, or Upcoming Orders pages. OPEN orders can be found in each location using the provided filters at the top of each page.
Click the Order number to open it, then click the Edit button.
Select Adjust tip and update the amount.
Click Submit to save your changes.
What if I need to adjust the tip on an order that's already closed?
If an order has already been closed but you need to adjust the tip, your only option is to fully refund the order, reorder on the customer's behalf, and add the updated tip before closing the new order.
