At Direct Ordering, we recognize that customers may occasionally overlook items, choose the wrong date or store location, or use the incorrect payment card. To address these common errors, we offer a convenient solution that allows restaurants to edit existing orders on behalf of customers, eliminating the need for full order cancellation and the inconvenience of having customers start over from scratch.
Note: Only orders with a Pending, Held, or Open status can be edited. If an order is Closed or Voided, it cannot be edited.

See below for an example of how to add beverages to a customer's future order who forgot to add them initially:
-
In your Direct Ordering Admin Panel
-
Go to Orders > Orders Review & Search > Select the order you want to edit
-
Click the Edit Order button
-
Edit any of the details listed above. For this example, we are adding beverages to the order, so we select the Proceed to Menu button.
-
Add missing menu items to the cart.
-
Click the Proceed to Checkout button.
> Note: Notice the customer's original payment method is still saved during this re-checkout process. -
Click Submit Order to save your changes.
> Note:-
This action re-authorizes the customer's payment method for the new total amount to ensure your restaurant will be able to capture the additional revenue the day the order is charged.
-
Once the edited order is submitted, the customer will automatically receive an email confirmation with their updated order details.
-
Note: Only orders with a Pending, Held, or Open status can be edited. If an order is Closed or Voided, it cannot be edited.
