All menus in Direct Ordering are directly synced with Checkmate (CM). Any changes to the menu imported to IACM are promptly transmitted to Direct Ordering in real time.
The information Direct Ordering receives from IACM is as follows:
Menu item name
Photos
Description
Modifiers
Price
Hours
There are customizable fields:
Menu item name
Description
Photos
Tags
Allergens
Nutrition Info
Modifier description and modifier photos
It's important to note that while modifier details such as descriptions and photos are supported within Direct Ordering, the current integration with IACM does not facilitate the transfer of these specific modifier attributes directly from IACM. If descriptions and photos for modifiers are desired, they need to be added within the Direct Ordering Admin Panel, under the Menus tab.
Some brands choose to use a different set of menu photos for their first-party ordering platforms. Some brands choose to use different images for the web experience and different ones for the menu on the app. Menu photos can be changed in the Direct Ordering Admin Panel.
There are four slots where an image can be uploaded - Raw Image, Small Image, Large Image, and App Image.
Raw Image: Here, you can upload a single high-resolution image of any size ( 5MB, 10MB, or any high-resolution size), and the tool will automatically compress the image into different images (small, large, and app images) that are fit to be uploaded to the website. The size of the images will be adjusted in the back end so that the surfing speed of the site is not affected.
Small Image: This is the menu item image during menu navigation.
Large Image: This is the menu item image when a menu item is selected.
App Image: This is the menu item image displayed on the app.
You can set your default image dimensions for different types of images that can be created via Direct Ordering’s automated image conversion process in the Direct Ordering Admin Panel, under Settings/ User Experience/ Image Sizes.
Steps to upload or update menu item images
In the event you would like to use different images for small, large, and app options, you will need to upload those separately under the appropriate tabs.
