All menus in Direct Ordering are directly synced with Checkmate.
Menu management occurs through two methods:
Direct Sync with Checkmate (IACM):
For restaurants using direct sync with IACM, any menu changes must be implemented in the Point of Sale (POS) system. ICAM retrieves the menu data from the POS system and transfers it to Direct Ordering.
The immediate synchronization ensures that menu updates made in the POS system are promptly reflected in Direct Ordering.
Non-Direct Sync (Legacy) with IACM:
In cases where a restaurant is not directly synced with IACM, menu adjustments must be made both in the POS system and the IACM Portal. Changes made in the IACM Portal are then pushed to Direct Ordering.
The IACM Portal serves as an intermediary, facilitating the transfer of menu modifications to Direct Ordering alongside other third-party platforms.
For detailed information on menu management in the IACM Portal visit: Checkmate Portal - Store Menu management.
Regardless of the integration method, any changes to the menu imported to IACM are promptly transmitted to Direct Ordering in real-time, mirroring the approach taken for third-party platforms.
The information transmitted from ICAM to Direct Ordering includes:
Menu item name
Photos
Description
Modifiers
Price
Hours
Additionally, there are customizable fields within Direct Ordering, including:
Menu item name: Please note there are two separate name fields: ‘Name’ and ‘Internal name’
Name: This is the customer-facing menu item name. This can be the same as the internal name, or brands can change this if they would like the menu item to have a different name visible to guests.
Internal name: this is the menu item name Direct Ordering receives from IACM. This field is disabled, it is not customizable due to menu mapping.
Description
Photos
Tags
Allergens
Modifier descriptions and photos: It's important to note that while modifier details such as descriptions and photos are supported within Direct Ordering, the current integration does not facilitate the transfer of these specific modifier attributes directly from ICAM. If descriptions and photos for modifiers are desired, they need to be added within the Direct Ordering Admin Panel, under the Menus tab.
