Brands using Direct Ordering can add promotional or instructional videos to their Guest or Account pages. This article walks you through the process, including video requirements, hosting instructions, and how to embed the video in your site using the Direct Ordering UI (DOUI).
Step 1: Prepare Your Video
File Types Supported:
.mp4(recommended).mov
Video Size Guidelines:
Orientation |
Resolution |
Aspect Ratio |
|---|---|---|
Horizontal |
1920×1080 or 1280×720 px |
16:9 |
Vertical |
1080×1920 or 720×1280 px |
9:16 |
Maximum File Size:
20MB
Video Design Guidelines:
Avoid placing text in the video — it may be cropped on smaller screens.
-
If using text:
Keep it minimal (a title or a few keywords).
Center the text both horizontally and vertically.
Place key content in the central 70–80% of the screen to ensure it remains visible across all devices.
Step 2: Host Your Video Online
We recommend using Dropbox for ease of embedding.
Go to www.dropbox.com and log in.
Upload your video file. Learn how to upload a file in Dropbox here.
-
After the upload, click the Copy Link to get the link for the newly uploaded video.
You'll get a link like:
https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/abc123xyz456/YourVideo.mp4?dl=0
Step 3: Create an Embeddable Link
To make the Dropbox link embeddable:
Replace
www.dropbox.comwithdl.dropboxusercontent.comRemove
?dl=0or&dl=0from the end
Example:
Original Link:
https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/abc123xyz456/YourVideo.mp4?rlkey=abcdefg123456&dl=0Embeddable Link:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/scl/fi/abc123xyz456/YourVideo.mp4?rlkey=abcdefg123456
Note: You may use other hosting platforms as long as you can generate a public, embeddable link to an .mp4 file.
