Announcements are discount deals or special offers that can be published on the website's mobile and desktop versions. They can include images and links that direct customers to specific pages or promotions. Announcements display as dynamic sliders that automatically rotate to showcase multiple promotions in a single space, and they can be updated in real time to keep customers informed about the latest news and offers.
Announcements can be added to the following pages:
- About
- Account
- Checkout
- Guest
- Home
- Menu
- Order Type
Create an Announcement
Follow the steps below to create an announcement:
Configure an Announcement
Before announcements can be displayed on the customer-facing site, they must be configured. This setup is required only once per new page where announcements will be added. Once an announcement has been added to a page, this configuration step does not need to be repeated, even if the content of the announcement itself changes.
Add an Announcement to the Direct Ordering Site
After creating and configuring an announcement, it must be enabled to make it visible on the desired guest-facing pages.
- Ensure the announcement is marked as "Active" before adding it to a page.
- Announcements that are not active cannot be added to any pages.
- A single announcement design is used for both web and mobile (when visibility is configured in both places), ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms.
Follow the steps below to add the announcement on the mobile and desktop site:

Example Announcements
The following examples show how announcements appear to customers with different Overlay Opacity settings.
At 50% opacity, the overlay partially covers the background, allowing some visibility while improving text readability.
At 100% opacity with a green overlay, the color becomes the full background, with the title and subtitle text displayed on top.
Below is an example of an announcement without any buttons, simply displaying the offer.
Tips for Creating Effective Announcements
- Keep the Title Clear and Engaging: use concise, attention-grabbing language so the title conveys the key message.
- Use a Subtitle for Additional Context: keep it brief but informative. This is optional, but it can help clarify details for customers.
- Optimize Overlay Opacity for Readability: use a lighter opacity (for example, 50%) to keep the background visible, or a higher opacity (for example, 100%) for strong contrast when the text needs to stand out.
- Choose Colors That Enhance Visibility: ensure the overlay color contrasts well with the text color, and avoid overly bright or clashing colors that make text difficult to read.
- Align Text for Best Presentation: select top, center, or bottom alignment based on the image composition, and use horizontal alignment (left, center, or right) to balance the layout.
- Use High-Quality Images: choose clear, professional images that complement the message, and ensure images do not overpower the text.
- Keep the Call to Action (CTA) Direct (When Applicable): if using a CTA, make it short and action-oriented, such as Order Now or Learn More, and link it to a relevant page for a seamless customer experience.
- Refresh Content Regularly: update announcement content regularly to maintain relevance and keep customers engaged.
