How to Update Existing Menu Item Name or Price (in POS)
Go to Items → Search for the Item you’d like to update
Click on the Item or the pencil to the left of the Item you’d like to update
Update the Item name, price, etc, and click OK
How to Update Modifiers within Modifier Group (in POS)
Go to Modifier Groups → Search for the Modifier Group you’d like to edit
Click into the Modifier Group or the pencil to the left of it to update
To remove modifier from modifier group
Find the modifier to remove and click the 'X' next to that modifier → Click OK.
To add a modifier to an existing modifier group
Select Add Item
Find the modifier you would like to add in the Search Bar
Select the modifier → Click OK
In the main Edit Modifier Group window, → Click OK again
How to Update Item Photo (in Checkmate Portal)
Although item photos can be updated within Brink, as noted above, the Brink to Ordering Platform sync does not currently support photo updates. Therefore, item photos MUST BE UPDATED DIRECTLY IN THE Checkmate Portal. Learn how to update Item photos in the Checkmate Portal here.
How to Update Item Description (in POS)
Go to Menu Items → Search Item Name (to add description) → Go to Description tab → Enter Description → Click OK.
How to Mark Item as Sold Out (in POS)
Marking items as sold out or (86’d) must be done in the Brink Portal. Follow the same steps to mark a modifier as out of stock.
Step 1: Log in to your Brink POS, and go to the Settings Editor under the Configuration in the left panel
Step 2: Select the Location for which you wish to make changes and Click on "Items" in the Panel on the left
Step 3: Find the item you would like to mark as sold out and uncheck the "Active" checkbox across that item
Uncheck the "Active" Checkbox, and the item will be marked as sold out until the item is marked as "Active" again.
Step 4: Click on "Save" to save the changes and "Publish" to push the changes to the POS
Once the Changes are made to POS, they will be automatically sent to Ordering platforms with the next Automatic Sync within 15 minutes. The item will be marked as sold out until marked as "Active" in POS.
NOTE: Checkmate polls the Brink POS EVERY HOUR, at which time the system will auto-sync, and the changes detected will push to the ordering platforms at that time. If you would like the change to be immediate, go to Checkmate Portal and Click on ‘Sync’. It will automatically Sync the menu with your POS and update the prices on your Ordering platforms.

Final Step: Pushing Changes to the Ordering Platforms
Once all updates are made in your Brink back end, update the ordering platforms to push the changes to your Ordering Platforms manually:
Go to the Checkmate Portal and Click on ‘Sync’. Once the POS Sync is complete, click on Push to Online Platform(s). The system will auto-sync every hour, and the changes will be pushed to the ordering platforms at that time.
Note: Our system will automatically sync with your POS EVERY HOUR. If a change to the menu is detected, it will be pushed out to the ordering platforms once the sync occurs.
