Please review and complete the checklist below to prepare your Brink Point-of-Sale for syncing with your Ordering Platforms.
Menu & Menu Settings
Menus
Ensure the menu name for the ordering platform is displayed as you intend it to appear.
Note: It is mandatory that all items displayed on the online ordering platform menu are part of a single menu in Brink. If there are any changes to the menu name during the review process, please inform your Account Manager immediately.
Items
All items and modifiers that need to be included in the ordering platform menu(s) must be marked as Active
This can be done for an individual item by selecting the item and checking the Active box
To Edit menu items in bulk, go to Items and check the checkbox under “Is Active” for all the items that you wish to make active
Review menu for items with same name but different item ID – Unique menu items must have unique names.
Tag Menu Items (FOR CUSTOMERS SELLING ALCOHOL ONLINE)
Do you sell alcohol? If so, the following tags must be used for tagging ALL items in your menu:
TAG | ITEM TYPE |
alcoholic drink without food | Alcoholic drink sold on its own |
alcoholic drink including food | One item including an alcoholic drink with a food item |
non-alcoholic food item | Regular food item sold on its own |
non-alcoholic drink item | Non-alcoholic drink item sold on its own |
non-edible item | Items that are neither food nor drink (Ex. Retail, Gift Card, Paper Supplies, etc.) |
To tag items, perform the following steps in Configuration > Settings Editor
Step 1: Go to Item Groups
Step 2: Select Add New Item Group
Step 3: Enter the first Tag name exactly as it appears in the chart above
Step 4: Click on Add Item
Step 5: Check the box next to EVERY item on your menu that belongs to this Group - then select OK and Save
Step 6: Repeat Steps 2 - 5 for the remaining tags as they appear in the chart above
Step 7: Save and Publish changes
Modifiers
Remove all nested modifiers (modifiers with modifier groups)

General Settings in Brink Back End
Set Destinations as Active and marked as Delivery (if applicable)
Note: Ordering platforms can have unique destinations OR can share the same ones
Add Tenders and set as Active
Note: Each ordering platform must have a unique tender set for it
Set your Order Prep time under Options→ Future Orders → Prep Times
Once you have completed these steps, please notify your Account Manager so we can complete the process and schedule the integration to go live as soon as possible
