A quote is a detailed, itemized estimate that a customer can review before a catering order is finalized. This article covers creating and sending a quote, converting it into a confirmed catering order, and sharing a secure payment link.
Creating and Sending a Quote
Catering administrators can create and send a quote before an order is finalized.
Step 1: Create a new order, or open an existing one.
Step 2: Click Quote to generate a PDF version of the quote.
Step 3: Send the PDF to the customer by email or another method.
Guest Access to Quotes
- A customer who has an account and is logged in can view quotes under Account > Order History.
- A customer without an account, or who is not logged in, receives only the PDF that is sent.
Editing and Resending a Quote
- The order can be edited and a new quote generated if changes are requested.
- A quote can be resent until the order is finalized.
Converting a Quote to an Order
Orders that have been created but not yet placed, such as saved drafts or generated quotes, appear under the Held Orders tab. A held order includes the full order details and any quote that has been shared with the customer, but the order itself has not been submitted or confirmed. Converting a held order turns the quote into a finalized catering order.
The walkthrough below covers each step of converting a quote or held order into a finalized catering order.
Sharing a Payment Link
The Copy link to quote feature generates a secure, live payment link. When the link is shared with a customer by email, the customer can click it to review and accept the quote, then complete payment directly. This removes the need to collect payment manually.
