Add a New Menu Item

Follow the steps below to add a New Menu Item:

When adding a new item or editing item details, you can update the following fields:

• Name*: Enter the name of the item. (Required)
• Description: Provide details about the item.
• Item Image: Upload or select an image for the item.
• Item Tax Rate: Specify the tax rate applicable to the item.
• Calories Count: Indicate the calorie count (e.g., 10, 10/20, 10-20, +10). Note: "+10" is supported by UberV2.
• Grubhub Promotion Name: Add a promotion name for Grubhub if applicable.
• Parent Elements*: Select the menu category where the item should appear. (Required)
• Child Modifier Group(s): Choose modifier group(s) to associate with the item.
• Additional Settings (select the appropriate checkboxes):
  • Mark as Alcoholic Item: Indicate if the item contains alcohol. This tag is essential for ensuring proper processing on ordering platforms.
  • This Item Can Legally Be Sold on Its Own: Specify if the item is a standalone product or only a modifier for other items.

Note: Before you edit your menu in the Checkmate Portal, ensure that all new categories/items/modifier groups/modifiers you wish to add have been added to your POS.
