Menu Item Group Inclusion/Exclusion from Online Ordering

To Include/Exclude Menu Item Groups From Third-Party Ordering

If there are Menu Item Groups that you would like to EXCLUDE from the third-party Ordering Platform, complete the following steps for each Menu Item Group that you wish to exclude:

• Go to the Menu Item Group

• Check the box “Exclude from Third Party Ordering”

Note: Follow the same steps for all menu items that you wish to EXCLUDE from Third-Party Ordering

Items

Mark Items/Modifiers As Available

All items and modifiers that need to be included in the ordering platform menu(s) must be marked as available by doing the following:

Go to Menu Items → Go to specific menu item → Mark as available by checking the “Available” box

Follow the same steps for all modifiers that you would like to be visible online

Note: You can also use the Menu Items Bulk Editor function to bulk edit menu item availability.

Mark Items As “Alcoholic” Item

If you serve alcohol on your online menus, you must mark those items as alcohol in your POS.

Go to respective Items under Menu Items → Scroll to General Information “Is Alcohol” Mark as ‘Yes’

Reconcile Menu Items To Have Unique Names

Review the menu for items with the same name but different item IDs – Unique menu items must have unique names (even within different menu categories).

Note: Define the OLO Display Name (Default) if you’d like the item name on the Online Ordering platform menu to be different from the POS Name.

Add Menu Item Descriptions

To add menu item descriptions as you would like them to appear online:

Go to respective Items under Menu Items → Scroll to Online Ordering Settings Description → Enter description

Note: Menu item images will be uploaded and managed within the Checkmate Portal, NOT in SpotOn.

Modifiers

Reconcile Modifier Names To Have Unique Names

If you must include same-name modifiers within a shared modifier group, differentiate between same-name modifiers by adding a punctuation mark or number in front of or after the modifier name

For Example, if two modifiers have the name “Steak” then -

Modifier 1: Steak

Modifier 2: Steak. or 2. Steak

Remove All Nested Modifiers (modifiers with modifier groups)

General Settings in SpotOn Back End

• Set Order Types (each ordering platform may have a unique order type or general one set for it) – Go to Order Types → Select ‘+’ in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen → Enter Order Type

• Set Payments (each ordering platform must have a unique payment option set for it) – Go to Payments → Select ‘+’ in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen → Add a payment option for each ordering platform

Once you have completed these steps, please notify your Onboarding Specialist so we can complete the process and schedule the integration to Go Live as soon as possible.
