Menus
Set Menu Name(s)
Set the Menu name(s) to be used on the POS as you want them to appear on the ordering platform(s).
Note: If the menu name changes during the review process, please inform your Onboarding Specialist as soon as possible.
Items
Enable Items To Be Visible Online
All menus, items, and modifiers that need to be included in the ordering platform menu(s) must be enabled by doing the following:
Go to the Item
Scroll to the “Visible To” section
Check “Online Orders: Ordering partners”
Alternatively, to mass edit item visibility, go to Home → Edit Menus → Advanced Properties → Select partner for each item you wish to be visible online.
Reconcile Item Names To Have Unique Names
Review the menu for items with the same name but different item IDs – Unique menu items must have unique names. If you are integrating more than one menu and there are duplicate items across multiple menus, please update the items to have unique names.
Add Item Descriptions And Images
Add menu item descriptions and images as you want them to appear online – under the Item → Properties.
MitemAlcohol Items As “Alcohol”
Do you sell alcohol online? If so, ALL ALCOHOLIC items sold online must be marked as alcohol by checking the (just below the item description and image) “Does this item contain alcohol?” checkbox.
Note: This needs to be done for ALL ALCOHOLIC items offered on your online ordering menu.
Modifiers
Reconcile Modifier Names To Have Unique Names
If you must include same-name modifiers within a shared modifier group, differentiate between same-name modifiers by adding a punctuation mark or number in front of or after the modifier name
For Example: If Two modifiers with the name “Steak”, they should be named as:
Modifier 1: Steak
Modifier 2: Steak. Or 2. Steak
Default Modifiers To Not Be Displayed
If you use default modifiers that you DO NOT want to be displayed on your online menus, tag ONLY these modifiers with the tag below:

General Settings in Toast Back End
Invite Checkmate as a Toast back-end user
Add integration under My Integrations
Set Dining Options (Ordering platforms can have unique dining options or can share the same dining option)
Set Payment Options (each ordering platform must have a unique payment option set for it)
Set Prep time - Other Setup → Prep/Delivery Times
Set Print Settings - Other Setup → Receipt Printing → Takeout/Delivery Printer → Set to “Print-On-Demand Only”
Set Online Ordering Settings - Other Setup → Online Ordering → Approval → Send orders directly to the kitchen.
Set Notification Setup - Other Setup → Notification Setup → Check “New online orders”
Auto firing on Tablet
Select the Toast icon on ONE terminal → Go to Device Set Up → select “YES” for “Order Auto Fire” on ONE tablet or POS only.
All other terminals → Select “NO” for this prompt.
Once you have completed these steps, please notify your Operations Specialist so we can complete the process and schedule the integration to go live as soon as possible.
