What is Direct Sync by Checkmate?
Direct Sync by Checkmate is our newest integration product which allows you to manage your menu and most menu settings directly from your POS. Updates to your integrated ordering platforms happen every hour automatically (if menu updates are detected) or can be initiated by you in the Checkmate Portal!
How do I know if my location is on Direct Sync by Checkmate integration?
You are on our Direct Sync by Checkmate integration if:
- You recently worked directly with our Direct Sync team to convert your location(s) from the Legacy integration to Direct Sync by Checkmate
- Your POS is Toast, Brink, Revel, Clover, Square, SpotOn, Upserve, and Heartland (case dependent), and you reviewed and completed a Direct Sync Settings Checklist as part of your onboarding process
- The "Sync" logo is visible in the Checkmate Portal in your location's menu manager.
How do I make changes to my ordering platform menus?
All menu item/modifier changes must be done DIRECTLY IN YOUR POS.
Checkmate will sync with your POS on a HOURLY basis. If changes are detected, your integrated ordering platform menus will be updated instantly!
Can’t wait an hour? No problem! Click on “Sync with POS” from the “Actions” menu in Store Management.
Note: Clicking the “Sync with POS” button triggers three actions: syncing items from your POS, syncing menu prices, and automatically pushing the updates to your integrated ordering platforms. There is no need to manually “Push to OP” after using “Sync with POS.” During this automatic push, the manual Push to OP option will be temporarily disabled to prevent errors from simultaneous updates. The push process may take 5 to 10 minutes to complete. This feature is available only for locations using Direct Sync.
How do I mark items as sold out (86’d)?
Mark items/modifiers as sold out DIRECTLY in your POS!
Checkmate polls your POS for sold-out items EVERY 5 minutes. If any are detected, Checkmate will instantly update the item availability and mark it as sold out on all integrated ordering platform menus.
