What is Group Ordering
The Group Ordering feature is a great option for customers ordering lunch for the whole office or a large group of people. It allows them to share a link to their cart with as many people as they'd like and then submit the order in one fell swoop, saving your restaurant in delivery trips to the same location.
Setting up Group Ordering
To set up Group Ordering, follow the below steps at each store location:
In your Direct Ordering Admin Panel
Go to Stores > select the Store where you'd like to enable Group Ordering
Go to Revenue Centers > select the Revenue Center
> Note: Group Ordering settings are specific to Revenue Center.Scroll down to the Group Ordering section.
Check the Allow Group Ordering checkbox, and set your other group ordering parameters:
Group Guest Limit - Optional field where you can limit the number of total guests on one order (i.e. if you don't want to allow more than 10 customers to submit orders within the same order, enter "10" in this field. If you have no limit, leave the field blank.).
Group Order Lead Time - The amount of time you want to give all the guests within the customer's group to submit their orders.
Group Order Extra Prep Time - How much wait time to add to your base wait time for the service type of this revenue center (i.e. if your regular Online Ordering Delivery wait time is 30 minutes, and you expect to need an additional 20 minutes to accommodate a large group order, you would enter "20" in this field).
How Group Orders Look from the Admin Panel
In your Direct Ordering Admin Panel
Go to Orders > Orders Review & Search
View the "Group" Tag displayed in the Order Type column.
Further, if you are viewing the details of any given Order Number, you may scroll down to the Order Details section > and view Group Order: Yes.
