What is Group Ordering, and How do I enable it at my restaurant?
Please visit this related article: Setting up Group Ordering
To use Direct Ordering's Group Ordering feature as a customer, you must determine whether you are the Cart Owner initiating the Group Order or a guest who is joining an existing Group Order.
How to Group Order as a Cart Owner
Cart Owners are the single people who own the Group Order. They initiate a Group Order, distribute the Group Ordering URL, receive items into the shared cart (that only they can see), confirm the order, and complete checkout to place it officially.
How to join a Group Order as a Guest
Guests can only join a Group Order if a unique Group Ordering URL is shared with them. Clicking this URL gives guests access to the restaurant menu and allows them to add items to their cart. Once they submit their order, it will appear in the group's shared cart, which only the Cart Owner can see. Guests can edit their submissions as long as the Cart Owner hasn't finalized the order.
