User Roles & User Permissions
Before adding a new User to Direct Ordering, you must decide what User Permissions to give each Role.
The five different roles in Direct Ordering are:
Admin
Catering Manager
Manager
Cashier
Employee
When setting User Permissions, you're choosing the lowest-level role that will be able to perform each function, along with all other roles above it in the hierarchy. The roles are ranked as shown above, with Admin being the highest level, and Employee being the lowest level.
On the User Permissions page, let's take the Cancel Orders function as an example:
If you assign the role of Admin, only Users assigned an Admin role will have access to 86 items.
If you assign the role of Employee in the dropdown, Users assigned any of the above five roles will have access to 86 items.
If you assign the role of Manager, all Users assigned roles of Manager and above (so Manager, Catering Manager, and Admin) will have access to 86 items.
Here is the above example in action:
The different functions that require you to set Role permissions are:
View Catering Summary
Refund Orders
Add Locations
Edit Orders - Quick Edit
Edit Orders - Full Edit
Cancel Orders
Resend Email to Customer
Confirm Orders without Sending
Show "Wait Times" Page
Updating User Permissions
See below for step-by-step instructions on how to update User Permissions by assigning Roles to specific functions in Direct Ordering.
Adding New Users in Direct Ordering
Once you have established User Permissions, you are ready to follow the below steps to add a New User to your brand:
Restricting User access to specific Store locations
As mentioned above, Creating a New User grants them access to every store within the brand, by default. To restrict user access to specific stores, follow these steps:
Activating your user account as a New User
Once a New User is created in the Direct Ordering backend, that user will automatically receive an activation email. Once they create a password, they can log in and use the platform.
