Clover manages dining options through a feature called Order Types. Checkmate uses these order types to assign incoming ordering platform orders to the correct dining option in Clover. Creating one order type for each connected ordering platform allows orders to route correctly and appear clearly in Clover reporting.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Log in to the Clover Dashboard
Log in to the Clover dashboard using valid merchant credentials.
Step 2: Open Account & Setup
Select Account & Setup from the left-hand menu of the Clover dashboard.
Step 3: Select Order Types
Under the Transactions section, select Order Types.
Step 4: Select Add Order Type
On the Order Types page, select Add Order Type.
Step 5: Enter the Ordering Platform Name and Save
Enter the name of the ordering platform as the order type name, such as Uber Eats, DoorDash, or Grubhub. Select Save. Do not select any additional checkboxes or settings while creating the order type.
Step 6: Repeat for Each Ordering Platform
Create one order type for each ordering platform connected to the location. A single order type per ordering platform covers both pickup and delivery orders.
Step 7: Confirm the Order Types Are Available
Once saved, the new order types become available to Checkmate for dining option mapping during the integration setup. The order type names must match the ordering platform names exactly so orders assign correctly.
