When using DoorDash as an ordering platform, it’s essential to understand how multiple menus scheduled for the same time are handled. While DoorDash will technically receive all menus pushed from Checkmate, only one menu will be visible to customers during overlapping hours.
What You Need to Know
If your store has two or more menus scheduled for the same hours, DoorDash will receive both, but customers can only view and order from one menu at a time.
This is a platform limitation on DoorDash’s side, and it cannot be changed or managed within the Checkmate Portal.
For Example, if your store has a Lunch Menu and a Seasonal Specials Menu, both scheduled from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, DoorDash will receive both menus. However, customers can only view and order from one menu at a time.
Suppose a customer begins placing an order from the Lunch Menu and later switches to the Seasonal Specials Menu. In that case, any items already added to their cart from the Lunch Menu will be automatically removed. This is because DoorDash does not support ordering from multiple menus simultaneously.
Best Practice
To ensure your customers can access everything you want them to order:
Avoid overlapping menu hours for different menus.
Combine key items from different menus into one unified menu, using categories like “Lunch” or “Seasonal Specials” to keep things organized.
This approach reduces confusion and prevents missed orders due to visibility limitations.
