How to Change/Edit Item Name?
Go to Inventory > Select Items > Search for the Item > Select the Item > Enter updated item name under Item name* field > Click Save
How to Add/Edit Item Price?
Go to Inventory > Select Items > Search Item > Click on the Item.
Update the price under the Price field > Click on Save.
How to Remove/Delete an Item?
Go to Inventory > Select Items > Enter Item name under Search Item field > Click on the Item.
Click on the 3 Dots icon in the upper-righthand corner > Select Delete > Select Delete Item
How to Add/Edit an Item Description?
Note: Item description needs to be added directly within the Checkmate Portal.
Log in to the Checkmate Portal > Click on Store Management > Click on Item.
Click on Pencil Icon underneath the item.
Edit item description > Click Check to save
How to Add/Edit Item Image/Photo?
Note: Item images need to be added directly from the POS.
Please follow these steps to add/edit item image/photo(s):
Go to Clover dashboard → Select Inventory.
You will be directed to a new window wherein you can view all menu items.
Select the menu item(s) for which you wish to update the image. You will be directed to a new window (shown below) wherein, you can add the desired image either by Drag and Drop technique or by selecting the file you wish to add.
Select the Save button to reflect the incorporated changes for that specific menu item.
How to Move Item from One Category to Another?
Go to Inventory > Select Categories > Search for the Category to which you wish to add the Item.
Scroll to Items > Select ‘+/- Edit.’
Check the box next to the item(s) you wish to add to the Category > Click Save.
Note: You must then remove these Items from their original categories. To remove items from a Category, follow the same steps above and UNCHECK the boxes next to the Item(s) you wish to remove from the Category.
How to Mark an Item as Visible Online?
Go to Inventory > Select Items > Search Item > Click on the Item.
Check the Show on POS box > Click on Save.
Note: You can also Bulk select Show online for multiple items by going to Items and checking the box Online for all items you wish to make visible.
How to Mark an Item as Sold Out?
Note: By default, marking items as sold out must be done within the Checkmate Portal. If you manage your inventory directly in your Clover POS, please inform us so that we can update the system settings and accommodate for managing your item stock directly from your POS.
Marking Items as Sold Out in the Checkmate Portal
Toggle the Available button on the item (default is one day) > Click on Push
This will open a Pop up that allows you to mark the items unavailable until the next day, certain hours, or a custom time and date. You can also choose to mark it as available again if needed manually.
Marking Items as Sold Out in the POS
Note: By default, marking items as sold out must be done within the Checkmate Portal. If you manage your inventory directly in your Clover POS, please inform us so that we can update the system settings and accommodate for managing your item stock directly from your POS.
Go to Inventory > Select Items > Search Item > Click on the Item
Scroll down to the Item Tracking section > Update the Item Count (to zero if sold out) > Click on Save.
Note: If the Item count is blank or any other number other than zero, then the item will show as available online.
How to Sort/Arrange Items under an Item Category?
Note: Item sorting needs to be managed from the Checkmate Portal.
Click on Store Management on the homepage > Click on Sort Menu
Drag and drop Item to desired space > Click Save

Note: Sorting of categories needs to be managed from the Checkmate Portal.
Click on Store Management on the homepage > Click on Sort Menu.
Drag and drop Category to desired space > Click Save

How to Edit a Modifier Group (Name & Min/ Max)?
Go to Inventory > Select Modifier Groups > Search the Modifier Group > Select the modifier group
Note:
To Edit Name: Enter a new modifier group name in the ‘Group name’ field
To Edit Min/Max: Scroll down to “How many choices can your customers pick?”
Enter the Min / Max count > Click on Save
Note: To make the modifier group a required modifier, set the Min to at least one.
How to Arrange/Sort Modifier Groups?
Note: This needs to be managed from the Checkmate Portal
Click on Store Management on homepage > Click on Item > Click on Sort Modifier Groups > Drag and drop the item to desired place > Click Save

How to Change/Edit Modifier Name and Price?
Go to Inventory > Select Modifier Groups > Search the Modifier Group to make changes > Select the modifier group in which you would like to make edit.
Scroll down to the Modifiers section > Click on the modifier you wish to edit > Edit Modifier > Click on Done
How to Remove/Delete Modifiers?
Go to Inventory > Select Modifier Groups > Search the Modifier Group that contains the modifier > Select the modifier group
Scroll down to the Modifiers section > Select the check box of the modifier that you would like to delete > Select the Delete button available in the dropdown for Bulk edit options
Select the Delete Modifier button to delete the modifier successfully.
How to Sort/Arrange Modifiers?
Note: This needs to be requested from the Customer Support team. They will process the request and incorporate the desired changes within the Checkmate Portal.

How to Add Menu Hours?
Note: This needs to be managed from the Checkmate Portal.
Click on Ordering Hours > Click on Regular Hours > Click on Edit > Update the hours as needed
Update the hours as needed > Click Save > Click Push to Ordering Platform
How to Set Holiday/ Special Hours?
Note: This needs to be managed from the Checkmate Portal.
Click on Ordering Hours > Click on Special/ Holiday Hours > Click on Edit > Update the hours as needed
Update the hours as needed > Click Save > Click Push to Ordering Platform
How to Set Kitchen Prep Time?
Note: This needs to be managed from the Checkmate Portal.
Click on Ordering Hours > Click on Kitchen Prep Time > Click on Edit
Update Prep Time minutes > Click on Save > Click on Push to Online Platforms
How to Set Time Specific Kitchen Prep Times?
Note: If you have integrated Ordering Platforms that allow for time-specific prep time, you will have the option to uncheck the “use default prep times” button, which will expand the days of the week.
Click on Hours > Click on Kitchen Prep Time > Click on Edit > Uncheck Use Default Prep Time.
Set Day Prep Time for each day of the week as you like
To set Prep Time based on time of day, check By Time Period:
a) Enter the start and end time
b) Set prep time next to that time range
c) Select '+' to add more time ranges for that day
Repeat the above steps for each day of the week > Click Save when finished.
Note:
For Ordering Platforms that do NOT support time-specific prep times, their logo will appear below the Default Prep Time section and will only use the default time, which applies to all days of the week.
For Ordering Platforms that DO support time-specific prep times and for which time-specific prep times are set, their logo will appear below the Time Specific Prep Time section making it easier to distinguish which Ordering Platform is using which type of prep time.
How to Mark the Location or Ordering Platform Online/ Offline?
Note: To mark the location online/offline, this process must be completed in the Checkmate Portal.
Go to Store Menu
To mark Location online/ offline > Toggle the Online button next to the Location Status
To mark Ordering Platforms online/ offline > Toggle the Online button next to the Ordering Platform(s)
Once complete, click on Push to Ordering Platform
How to Publish Changes?
For changes made in the Clover POS → always click Save whenever making changes
For changes made in the Checkmate Portal to be immediately reflected on your integrated ordering platforms→ always click Resync with POS→ Click Push to Ordering Platform
Otherwise, our system will automatically sync with the POS EVERY HOUR and push to the ordering platforms at that time.
