Why use QR Codes?
Restaurants commonly use QR codes to direct in-person guests to place their orders digitally for the following reasons:
Improved Order Accuracy: When guests manually type in their own orders, they personally ensure that no items or important details (items, allergen notes, special requests, etc.) are missed, eliminating the element of human error by your order-taking staff.
Real-time Menu Updates: If your restaurant runs out of an item and you 86 it, your QR Code menu also updates in real-time, which prevents guests from ordering out-of-stock items.
Labor Benefit: Ordering via QR code reduces the need for a dedicated Front of House cashier and/or dining room waitstaff, which is a cost-effective solution to combat rising labor costs. Direct Ordering provides pre-generated QR codes to you for free!
Environmentally Conscious Strategy: Offering an interactive digital version of your menu can eliminate the need for your restaurant to reprint your paper menus every time you add an item or change a price.
Quality Assurance: When staff is not distracted by guests who may be unfamiliar with your menu (occupying them for extended periods of time), they are free to spend more time focusing on the quality and accuracy of every order.
Improved Guest Experience: Guests spend more time ordering when not rushed by other guests or pressured by a cashier/waitstaff to choose their items quickly. They can place their order without having to wait in a physical line, and as mentioned above, they are not able to order out-of-stock items. This all leads to a more pleasant and relaxed ordering experience for the guest, resulting in higher ticket values for your restaurant!
How to download custom QR Codes for use by in-store Guests:

> Note: QR Codes are specific to Store and Revenue CenterIn the left navigation, select QR Codes
Here, you can test your three pre-generated QR Codes with your smartphone's camera to confirm the QRs are taking your guests to the expected URLs. See the graphic below, where:
Nothing Preselected = gives guests the choice of whether they'd like to Eat Here (dine-in), or Take Out (take their order to-go).
Take Out = allows guests to place a Take Out order, in person
Eat Here = allows guests to place a Dine-in order, in person> Note: All ordering options give customers the choice of checking out as a "guest" or logging into their previously established Direct Ordering customer accounts where they can access their earned rewards and saved payment methods for a swifter checkout.
6. Click the Download button to save each QR code you'd like to use in your store. The QR(s) you choose will depend largely upon your business model and can be used on print materials, as many times as you'd like.

How to create & download custom QR Codes for each table in your Restaurant
In your Direct Ordering Admin Panel
Navigate to Stores > select a Store location
Click Revenue Centers, select the specific Revenue Center for which you'd like to set up QR Codes for your tables
> Note: In this example, QR Codes are specific to Store, Revenue Center, and TableIn the left navigation, select QR Codes
Scroll down to the Generate QR Codes with Table Numbers section
To bulk-add QR Codes for your tables: if your table numbers are consecutive and start with 1, type your highest table number into the Table Numbers field and click the Generate QR Code button to conveniently create all of your Table QR Codes in one click.
Download each table's QR Code using the Download button.
> Note: Each downloaded QR file name will automatically generate with the format "Your Store Name_qr-code_eat_here_table#", so you can always be sure you are using the correct file when creating your print materials. If you decide you no longer want to use your Table QR Codes, or want to generate new ones with different parameters, you can click the Clear All button to delete them from your account.
> Note: Deleting a Table QR Code from your backend does not invalidate the QR Code if it is already on display in your restaurant; once a QR is created, it exists for life. To ensure a guest doesn't order from the wrong URL, it is best practice to test every QR Code before sending it to print, to ensure it does exactly what you want it to.
