Menus
Set Online Ordering Menu
If you wish to have a separate menu for online ordering:
Note: You MUST mark all menus you wish to use as available online by checking the Available Online box.
Items
Enable items to be visible online
All Groups, Sections, Items, and Modifiers that need to be included in the ordering platform menu(s) must be marked as available online by doing the following:
Note: Unchecking the “Available Online” checkbox will cause the Item NOT to be visible online
Add menu items' descriptions
To add menu item descriptions as you would like them to appear online:
Reconcile Menu items to have unique names
Review the menu for items with the same name but different item IDs – Unique menu items must have unique names. If you are integrating more than one menu and there are duplicate items across multiple menus, please update the items to have unique names.
Tag all Menu Items
For Customers Selling Alcohol items online
Do you sell alcohol? If so, the following tags must be used for tagging ALL ALCOHOLIC items in your online menu:

Alcoholic drink without food | Alcoholic drinks sold on their own |
Alcoholic drink, including food | One item including an alcoholic drink with a food item |
You can also add tags to the Item by adding the appropriate tag in the “Tags/Attributes“ field.
Add Images to the menu items
Menu item images will be set by you directly in the Checkmate Portal once your menu has been imported. You do NOT need to add images in the POS.

Modifiers
Reconcile Modifiers to have unique names
If you must include same-name modifiers within a shared modifier group, differentiate between same-name modifiers by adding a punctuation mark or number in front of or after the modifier name
For Example:
Multiple modifiers with the name “Steak”
Remove included ingredients from all modifier groups
Our integration does NOT support included ingredients. Please ensure for all modifier groups available for online ordering, “Number of Included Ingredients” is set to 0.
General Settings in Heartland Back End
Set up the “Custom Tenders” for the ordering platforms:
Go to "Location Setup" after logging into your admin dashboard.
Click "Custom Tenders" then "New" to create a tender.
Enter details for a custom tender specific to one ordering platform and click “Save”.
Repeat this for each Ordering Platform, and ensure they are all unique.
Once you have completed these steps, please notify your Onboarding Specialist so we can complete the process and schedule the integration to go live as soon as possible.
